Insurance Terms to Know

Bodily Injury Liability Protection:
Typically helps provide coverage if you are legally liable for damages resulting from a covered auto accident where others are injured or killed.

Collision Coverage:
Typically helps pay for damage to your insured vehicle caused by a covered accident with another vehicle, a rollover, or a collision with almost anything else, such as a tree

Comprehensive Coverage:
Typically helps pay for damage to your insured vehicle caused by falling objects, fire, theft, vandalism, hitting a deer and certain other noncollision losses.

Deductible:

The portion of a covered loss you pay before the insurance company becomes responsible for payment under the policy. Generally, a higher deductible means a lower premium.

Medical Payments Coverage:

Typically helps provide protection for reasonable and necessary medical expenses incurred as a result of bodily injury sustained by you or covered drivers and passengers in a covered accident.

Property Damage Liability Protection:
Typically helps provide coverage if you are legally liable for damages to another's property resulting from a covered auto accident.


Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury Coverage:

Typically helps provide coverage if you (including covered drivers and passengers) are injured or killed in an accident caused by a negligent driver without applicable or adequate insurance to cover your damages.
